A14 CLOSURE NOTICES UP TO EASTER

Posted: 03/03/2020

Good Morning

I hope that you saw the recent media coverage in which it was announced that the new A14 would be open to 70mph running this spring some 6 months earlier than anticipated. This will mean that the junctions at Bar Hill and Swavesey will also soon be fundamentally completed, with the permanent slip roads onto the A14 and both west and east access onto the new local access road.

To achieve this, over the coming weeks there will be further weekend closures of the A14 in most many cases these will include day and night closures. Please do note, when we close the A14 (during the day) it will only be in one direction to try to minimise the impact on the surrounding villages.

During the closures the bulk of the work will be relatively quiet, so we do not anticipate you will be disturbed by noise. We will principally be installing the central concrete barrier, laying the surfacing and painting white lines, with a few other activities also being done. We do however acknowledge that the closures may have an impact on your journeys, and it is for this reason we are sending out these details to ensure you are aware.

Our current plan (which may need to be revised as work progresses) is as follows.

Fri 6 to Mon 9 March 21:00 Fri to 05:00 Mon
Dry Drayton bridge & Local Access Road from junction with B1050 Hattons Rd closed

Fri 13 to Mon 16 March 21:00 Fri to 05:00 Mon

Fri 20 to Mon 23 March 21:00 Fri to 05:00 Mon

Fri 27 to Mon 30 March

Fri 3 to Mon 6 April

Please note: This weekend, 6 – 9 March we will open the new westbound A14 off-slip at Bar Hill and will permanently close the current Dry Drayton exit, providing a more direct route into and out of Bar Hill.

If you use social media then this is where we post our daily road closure information, so we would recommend that to allow you to keep as up to date as possible you follow our pages on Facebook or Twitter #A14C2H.

If you have any questions please let me know.
