Former Fenstanton man celebrates 101st birthday.

Henry Emery - known as Harry - lived in Fenstanton for more than 20 years with his wife Connie, until her death in 2006.

He reached his 101st birthday on January 30. Joined by three generations of his family and celebrated with a small party at the Hunters Down Care Home, in Hartford Road.

Harry served in the RAF in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur and also worked for travel agent Thomas Cook and as a removals estimator for Harrods in London, where he organised removals for celebrities Joan Crawford and Douglas Fairbanks Jr.as a removal man for the stars,

A sportsman in his younger days, Harry is a lifelong fan of Coventry City, the town where he spent his formative years, witnessing the destruction of the city during the November 1940 German air raid. He also follows Newcastle United because of family links.
