Scout Troop expedition to Norway
From the 7th to the 17th July 2007 almost our entire Scout Troop (so 27 of them), 5 of our Young Leaders and 6 adults went to Norway for an adventure of a lifetime.
They all had an amazing time – and if you want to see them axe throwing, diving off cliffs into the Fjord and climbing some very tall trees just visit the Scout Troop section of our web site!
I would just like to say a big thank you - to the adults who went but also to the youngsters, who made us proud with their excellent behaviour. They were a credit to themselves and Scouting.
1st August 2007 – Cromwell District Sunrise Celebrations
At 8.00am on Wednesday 1st August 2007 all 28 million Members of the Scout Association around the world celebrated the Centenary of Scouting. This was a unique opportunity for all Scouts to renew their Promise, reflect on their scouting experiences and look to the future.
Hundreds of local Beaver, Cubs, Scouts and adults took part in a ceremony which saw the centre of St Ives closed off, and even appeared (briefly!) on Anglia TV. The Town Crier had even written a special Scouting “cry”, which was a great honour. This was then followed by a fantastic morning of fun for all the family back at Nobles Field, and enjoyed by around 650 people. The Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and leaders that took part will all receive a special Sunrise badge -–as will those who were away on holiday but complete a Portable Promise pack.
