Despite the football season being over, there's still plenty to talk about at Fenstanton Football Club!

On Saturday 17th May, we held our annual end of season party at The Fountain in Cambridge, where we also announced the winners of the Player's Player of the Season and the Manager's Player of the Season awards for both teams, along with a couple of other awards.

First Team Top Goal Scorer Captain Josh Turner has been banging in the goals for quite some time now for the club and isn't a stranger to collecting this award each year. This season he managed to notch an impressive tally of 18 goals, meaning that he has now scored over 100 goals for the club.

First Team Player's Player Dan Berrill has been a key part of the First Team's success this season, playing in multiple positions, including going in goal in the match against Bluntisham! His best moment of the season however was his performance in the Cambs William Cockell Memorial Cup final which earned him the title of man of the match and also the player's votes for this award.

First Team Manager's Player This title was awarded to 2 players this year, as Manager Dom Moody felt that the work Stephen Hastings and Josh Turner did on and off the pitch should be rewarded. Josh became captain of the First Team this season, leading the team to become winners of the Cambs William Cockell Cup. This was Stephen Hastings first season with the club after moving from St Ives Rangers. His commitment and sportsmanship has earned him the title of Manager's Player of the Season along with Josh.

Reserve Team Top Goal Scorer David Moore took home the title of top goal scorer for the second year running scoring an impressive 14 goals. Adding this to the 11 goals he scored last season making it a quarter century for the club now!

Reserve Team Player's Player Not only did he take home the top scorer gong, but David Moore also received the votes for Players Player of the Season for the Reserves. We hope that getting the thumbs up from his colleagues, means that David will stay another season at the club!

Reserve Team Manager's Player New to the club this season, Adam Peachey was awarded this trophy by Manager Mark Buckingham. Putting in some consistently good performances in the many positions he has played in, Adam was called up to the First Team towards the end of the season, which meant he was named in the cup final squad against Great Paxton, coming on as a substitute and setting up the 4th goal. We hope to see Adam again next season!

Clubman of the Season This award should be renamed "Club Person of the Season" as it was awarded to Emma Buckingham who is the club's Development Officer. Emma has been working hard over the last 12 months with the goal of trying to improve the club's facilities. As well as organising fund raising activities for the club, she has also had the responsibility of applying for grants and liaising with architects, builders and local authorities. Planning permission was finally granted for the club in March this year, so Emma is now going to be taking the next steps towards reaching our target. Without people like Emma doing what she does in the background, the club's movements off the pitch would be restricted.
