A1096 Harrison Way Viaduct non-disruptive maintenance.

Posted: 03/02/2012

Please be advised that on Monday 6th February Cambridgeshire Highways will be starting the replacement of 40 bridge bearings under the deck of the A1096 Harrison Way Viaduct. The work is expected to last until mid March.
This is the second phase of work on the viaduct following the resurfacing and joint replacement undertaken before Christmas.

There will be no traffic management on the carriageway of the viaduct and thus no traffic disruption, as all of the work will be undertaken from underneath the bridge from scaffolding platforms. Access to the working area will be through the meadows off Priory Road, St Ives. Works will be barriered off after each shift securing the site area.

The work to replace the bridge bearings is necessary as some of the current bearings have worn out and to ensure that the viaduct continues to perform as originally designed.

If you have any questions please contact Cambridgeshire County Council.
